I get a patch for the expansion of Sims 2 and I can not decide to get expansion pack. Should I Bon voyage, or Pets?

Bon voyage unless you really love pets. i think Bon Voyage brings more to the game. With Pets I had to fence all my Sims houses so pets can't come and dig holes or pee or fight. But they are cute.
I love animals. The animals are really cool and everything. Bon voyage is a little weak.
